Who is Joseph Paz?
Dedicated to my friends and family that have loved and supported me.
Thank You.
I am a human being born in California of Guatemalan heritage.
From a young age I’ve been going to a Baptist church where I was saved, baptized, and am now temporarily serving until the Lord guides me in a new path. Ever since I can remember, I enjoyed drawing and performing small plays for my family. I would even draw scenery and characters which I would cut out and play with instead of playing with toys like a normal person. In May of 2025 I will be graduating from West Coast Baptist College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Arts. By then, I would have also taken a few online courses from Liberty University which have challenged me out of my comfort zone into new artistic territories. My time studying in both locations has been an honor and pleasure to learn and grow not only as an artist, but also as a Christian.

One of my greatest passions in life are movies and the craftsmanship put into the development of a film. Anytime a school project would arise consisting of a video portion, I would try my best to do a short film with my classmates. I love everything associated with movies whether it be cinematography, directing, the script, the acting, the storytelling. It’s all just fascinating. I wish one day to be able to use my talents for directing and scriptwriting. Most people think a successful director is one who makes it big into Hollywood with a massive paycheck, but for me the thrill of shooting a movie and being able to share a story with an audience is its own reward.
My second biggest passion would most definitely have to be drawing. I love drawing and have been doing it since I was a young boy. I’ve taken classes to improve as well as gained experience working with classmates and friends who also enjoy the craft. It’s definitely a helpful skill to continue developing in the visual arts world.
Why Zap Studios? Well, my last name is “Paz” which spelled gives you the word “Zap” thus the name I’ve given myself as an independent artist for the time being.
When it comes to what is the most important thing about me as an artist, there are two main principles. The first and most important one being to always be mindful and grateful for my Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” It is therefore my responsibility as a Christian to Never Compromise on biblical truths and to always be grateful for all that God has given me. The reason why I can do what I do and have the creativity I possess, is all a gift from God.
The second important principle is storytelling. Everyone has a different opinion about what it is that attracts a person towards a graphic design, website, photograph, movie, Etc. What I like to think attracts them is the story behind the art piece. Without a story for the art pieces, there is no point for someone to admire and appreciate its craftsmanship. Without a good story, a movie becomes wasted time. Because of this I wish to always have a good story behind every art piece I do and not do it just for the money or because I was bored.
